About Our Audiologist
Calt Shabalala is a determined healthcare professional who is driven to make hearing loss solutions part of lifestyle without stereotypes. He’s been passionate about hearing loss and hearing devices from his early ages of life. He pursued to study at the university level to fulfill his curiosity. He believes that knowledge is power; with knowledge, people can reach their best selves. In practice I prioritize education; that is, with good, proper information relayed, people can overcome obstacles and find solutions. To fulfill his curiosity he has worked for the public hospital in rural areas where he discovered that hearing loss does not only affect the older generation but almost anyone who is vulnerable.
Passion and Drive
His passion for hearing disorders was lived as he joined an NGO in Cape Town, Strand to design and implement a hearing clinic in the Helderberg area to minimize and address hearing loss in public before hospitals can intervene. This project was meant to educate, identify, diagnose and refer for further intervention at the hospital level. This built a character within to pursue professional private practice to ensure quality treatment of hearing loss. The aim is to spread knowledge about hearing loss to all vulnerable people of the society whilst treating hearing loss.
